Meritus Medical Center’s Emergency Department was honored with the Maryland Stars of Life award from the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services. Meritus is one of only three ER’s in the state receiving the award, having reached certain benchmarks in service and care in partnership with emergency medical services. Meritus is the fifth-busiest ER in the state, seeing around 60,000 patients a year and has seen 11,000 EMS patients so far in 2025.
