One of the facets of Governor Wes Moore’s budget for 2027 is funding for the prevention of hate crimes in Maryland. The program provides support to non-profits and faith-based groups for security enhancements to protect facilities and members against hate-motivated violence. Moore is looking to budget $10 million dollars for the program. Last year, grants allowed over 180 organizations across Maryland to increase security including alarms, cameras, and reinforced doors and windows.
