The Cumberland Police Dept in conjunction with the Combined County Criminal Investigations Unit is currently investigating a series of motor vehicle thefts that have occurred throughout various areas of the City of Cumberland. Person(s) unknown are entering vehicles that have been unlocked and are taking the vehicles from various residences. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Cumberland Police Department at 301-777-1600 or C3I at 301-777-0326. Callers can also contact the Allegany/Mineral County Crime Solvers by submitting a tip at allegany-mineralcountycrimesolvers.com or by calling 301-722-4300. Callers can remain anonymous and information leading to an arrest may result in a cash reward being offered.

 The Cumberland Police Department would like to remind residents to lock their vehicles when not in use and remove any and all valuables from their vehicles. We urge residents to report suspicious activity to 301-777-1600.
