PA Still At Budget Impasse

August 29th, 2025 by WCBC Radio

Pennsylvania legislators are close but not decided on a new budget for the state that is now over two months late.  The Pennsylvania House passed a budget of $50 billion dollars. The Senate budget that was passed totals $48 billion. A compromise seems imminent, but Governor Josh Shapiro doesn’t like the people of the state being toyed with over their money…

“Look, I’m a big boy. I understand the game and I understand that they need to play politics. But I think that trying to slow down a state budget for the purposes of seemingly gaining some political advantage that they will not gain, but will only serve to hurt the good people of Pennsylvania, I think is cynical.”
