On Friday, October 24, 2025, Officers of the Cumberland Police Department served an arrest warrant on Tyele Powell. The warrant was issued as a result of an incident that occurred on October 22, 2025, at a residence on Pennsylvania Avenue. Officers responded for the report of a destruction of property complaint. It was reported that Powell broke into the residence, assaulted the victim, and then poured bleach on several items of clothing. After the investigation was completed, Officers completed an application for charges for Powell, which resulted in an arrest warrant being issued. Powell was located and placed under arrest. He was transported to the Allegany County Detention Center, where he was taken before a District Court Commissioner. Powell was held without bond pending his trial.
