On Thursday, August 21, 2025, Officers of the Cumberland Police Department served a bench warrant on Michael Butler for failure to appear. Butler was transported to the Allegany County Detention Center, where he awaits his initial appearance.

On Thursday, August 21, 2025, Officers of the Cumberland Police Department were on patrol in the area of Greene Street when they observed a female in a posted no trespassing area. The female was identified as Melany Melvin. She was placed under arrest and issued a criminal citation for trespassing. Melvin was released pending her trial at the Allegany District Court.

On Thursday, August 21, 2025, Officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 200 Block of Baltimore Avenue for the report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, Officers made contact with the complainant, who advised that Loy Linaweaver had been yelling and threatening others in the area. While completing the investigation, Linaweaver was observed by officers creating a disturbance.  He was placed under arrest and transported back to Police Headquarters, where a criminal citation was issued. Linaweaver was released pending his trial at the Allegany District Court.
