PSC will Conduct Virtual Public Hearing on Jade Meadow Solar

The Maryland Public Service Commission will hold a second virtual public comment hearing on the plan by Point Reyes Energy Partners, LLC to build a 19.84 MW solar generating facility in Allegany County, Maryland. The hearing, to be conducted by Public Utility Law Judge Christine Burke, will be held on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. The first hearing in this case was held August 11, 2020.

 

The project, known as Jade Meadow Solar, is slated to be constructed in Frostburg on 113 acres of property owned by the Allegany Coal and Land Company, and which had previously been used for a surface coal mine. The project also includes an optional 6.4 MW energy storage component.

 

Members of the public who wish to speak at the hearing can sign up by sending an email to psc.pulj@maryland.gov by 12 noon on March 9, 2021. The hearing will be held on the WebEx platform and participants will receive an email with the link to join the hearing. The hearing will be simultaneously livestreamed on the Public Utility Law Judge’s YouTube channel: https://bit.ly/2X6wLiP

 

Written comments will also be accepted until March 17, 2021 through the Commission’s online public comments portal, instructions for which can be found at: https://www.psc.state.md.us/make-a-public-comment/ Comments should reference Case No. 9643.
