United Workers will lead a rally walk to Cumberland’s City Hall today at 11:30am. The rally will highlight policies impacting families including cuts to Medicaid and SNAP programs. Janet Heavner tells WCBC news United Workers is a poor people’s human rights organization and today's rally speakers are local citizens sharing how they’re trying to overcome poverty. “So many people who are living in poverty struggle day to day and it’s not that they are lazy, which is a myth, or that they are just looking for a handout, which is a myth. They are struggling to keep their family fed and healthy and housed.”
