June 15th, 2025 by WCBC Radio

The Rotary Club of Cumberland will accept allocation requests now until July 31, 2025 that help support local organizations and programs.

Cumberland Rotarians raise funds through the collection of dues and through annual fundraising efforts. In 2024-2025, Rotary provided allocations totaling $8,200 to a variety of organizations. These include: Allegany Arts Council, Allegany County Animal Shelter, Allegany County Habitat for Humanity, Allegany County Historical Society, Inc., A*Star 4-H Robotics Club, Beyond the State Foundation, Inc., Bikes for the World, Bruce Learning Center, CASA of Western Maryland, County United Way, Inc., Cumberland Cultural Foundation, Embassy Theatre Corporation, Evergreen Heritage Center Foundation, REACT – Robotics & Engineering in Allegany County Together, Inc., and Western Maryland Food Bank.

Interested organizations may view guidelines and apply by visiting https://cumberlandrotary.com/allocation-requests/. The maximum amount distributed for each request will be capped at $1,000 and funding announcements will be made in August with distributions throughout the fall.

Awardees will be invited to attend a lunch meeting where they will receive their check and be asked to present to the Club members about the program or service being supported.
