Snow Squall Affecting Western Maryland

At 319 AM, a heavy snow band was located along a line extending from near Shippensburg to 6 miles north of Paw Paw to Oakland. Movement was east at 45 mph. Winds in excess of 30 mph are possible with this band of snow.

Locations impacted include…
Cumberland, Frostburg, Keyser, Westernport, Romney, Hancock, Bel Air, Paw Paw, Greenwood, La Vale, Wilson-Conococheague, Fort Ashby,
Lonaconing, Piedmont, Berkeley Springs, Ridgeley, Berkeley, Cresaptown, Potomac Park, and Wiley Ford.

This includes the following highways…
Interstate 68 in Maryland between mile markers 32 and 80.
Interstate 70 in Maryland between mile markers 1 and 23.

Visibilities will drop quickly to less than a half of a mile in this snow band. Conditions can deteriorate rapidly in winter weather situations. Be prepared for snow or ice covered roads. Slow down and allow extra time when traveling.
