A new poll from the UMBC Institute of Politics surveyed 801 Maryland adults across the state, asking a range of questions of what they see as priorities for state government. The top three answers were rated as a high priority by respondents. Healthcare was rated top with 77% saying it should be a top priority for the state. Quality of K through 12 public education sat high with 75% of those surveyed, while crime reduction and public safety were cited by 73% of respondents. Taxes, housing, and energy costs were also among the issues raised.
