URM Case Worker Shares Turnaround Story

November 24th, 2025 by WCBC Radio

Tim Roy, a Union Rescue Mission Case Worker, recently talked about his life’s journey on the Dave Norman program, He came to URM as a resident, battling alcoholism and a herniated disc, after being told about it by a local police officer. He says he found purpose at the mission and the only obstacles he faced when getting help was putting aside pride…

“Every morning you have to refresh yourself and decide, ‘I’m not going to drink today. I’m gonna try to follow the Lord the best I can every day.’ Pick up the Bible and I’m gonna pray. So, I’d say my obstacles were myself, my own addictions, things that were getting in my way. As far as the obstacles at the mission, there’s a pretty clear pathway there on how to get help. You just have to walk it.”
