Peña-Melnyk urges special session on redistricting, citing Voting Rights Act decision

Maryland House Speaker Joseline Peña-Melnyk is calling for a special session on congressional redistricting citing the Supreme Court decision, which threw out part of the 1965 Voting Rights Act. Peña-Melnyk said the “Supreme Court’s decision gutted the Voting Rights Act, noting the urgency is only greater.”
