Oldtown Road Traffic Stop leads CDS Arrest

On May 7th, 2026 at approximately 1:45 p.m., an officer from the Cumberland Police Department observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation on Oldtown Road. The officer initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and contacted the driver, Sierra Jane Broadwater. During the traffic stop, the officer requested a K-9 to perform a free air sniff of the vehicle. The K-9 indicated a positive alert and officers searched the vehicle and its occupants. As a result of the search, Broadwater was found to be in possession of a quantity of CDS and CDS paraphernalia. She was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters, where she received two citations for the offenses. She was later released pending trial at Allegany County District Court.
