WV Democrats Question Data Centers

West Virginia Democrats are cautioning state residents about the implications of a bill passed in the last General Assembly. They say HB2014 sets a dangerous precedent in the state, taking local government out of zoning ordinances. Delegate Evan Hansen says the new law provides the state more power over local authorities, specifically where data centers are concerned…
“Overrides all types or local ordinances and it specifically lists some. Ordinances related to noise, ordinances related to light. It is very specific in that it won’t even allow for code enforcement or building inspections at the data center buildings.”
