On Sunday, July 6, 2025, Officers of the Cumberland Police Department were conducting routine patrols of the Downtown Mall when they observed a male sleeping in a storefront on makeshift bedding. Upon making contact with the individual to inform him of the violation, he was identified as Christopher Emerson. Officers learned that Emerson also had three active arrest warrants and was then placed under arrest. He was issued a civil citation for violating the City ordinance and transported to the Allegany County Detention Center, where he awaits his initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner.

CHARGES: Ordinance Violation, Failure to Appear – CDS Paraphernalia Possession, Violation of Probation (X2)
