The Allegany County Health Department has announced additional COVID-19 vaccination clinic dates at the Allegany County Fairgrounds throughout the month of February.  While Moderna boosters still require an appointment, walk-in services continue for first and second doses of Moderna (age 18+) and first, second, and booster doses of Pfizer (age 12+).  Appointments for the Moderna booster vaccine can be scheduled using the links below:

For assistance registering for an appointment, county residents can call the COVID-19 call center at 240-650-3999. COVID-19 vaccines and boosters are also widely available at local pharmacies, urgent care clinics, and some primary care providers.

The health department continues to offer free drive-thru COVID-19 testing at the Allegany County Fairgrounds in Cumberland on Mondays from 2 to 7 p.m. and on Wednesdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The health department also reports that free KN95 masks have been restocked and are available at the Willowbrook Office Complex (WOC) during regular business hours (8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday).  Additionally, KN95 masks will be available at Allegany County Library System branches beginning Monday, January 31 during the library’s regular business hours.  Library branch hours vary by location and can be found online at https://www.alleganycountylibrary.info/locations-and-hours/. Quantities of KN95 masks are limited to fifteen per person.

“ACHD is very happy to be able to provide these masks for the public, and we strongly encourage the use of masks in public spaces to help prevent the spread of COVID-19,” stated health department spokesperson Brenda Caldwell.  “We regret the confusion which was caused by the brief supply issue on Monday, resulting in some folks not being able to get masks immediately.  We distributed all that we had on-site at the Willowbrook Office Complex and had to briefly suspend distribution while staff retrieved more from our off-site storage.”

The Willowbrook Office Complex also offers a limited supply of N95 masks and cloth masks for anyone who prefers those.  N95 masks – which come in smaller quantities – are limited to five per person.  Please note that N95s and cloth masks are not available through the library system and can only be obtained by coming to the Allegany County Health Department.
