The Allegany County Health Department and the Allegany County Department of Emergency Services are pleased to announce dates for three walk-in COVID-19 vaccination clinics in the coming weeks. The first walk-in clinic will be held at the Oldtown Fire Department on Tuesday, April 27. Next will be the Flintstone Fire Department clinic on Thursday, April 29, followed by a clinic at the Lonaconing Good Will Fire Company Armory on Tuesday, May 4. All of the scheduled clinics will run from 9 a.m. to noon, and any Allegany County resident 18 or older can come to the clinic without an appointment. Additional clinics will be announced as they are scheduled.
The Allegany County Health Department reports that 21,539 Allegany County residents have received their first dose of a two-dose vaccine against COVID-19 (30.6% of the population), with 14,803 of those individuals now fully vaccinated with their second dose (21.0 % of the population). The number of residents who have received the single dose Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) vaccine remains at 2,110 (3.0 %).
By comparison, the state reported that 39.4% of all Marylanders had received their first dose of a two-dose vaccine, with 25.0% having had both doses and 3.0% vaccinated with the single dose vaccine.
