Walk-in COVID-19 vaccination clinics are slated at the Mt. Savage Fire Company on Thursday, June 3rd from 9 a.m. to noon, and at the Allegany County Fairgrounds multipurpose building on Friday, June 4th from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. Both clinics will offer the single-dose Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine as well as second doses of the Moderna COVID vaccine. Those getting their second dose of Moderna are asked to bring their COVID vaccination card with them to the clinic.
Additionally, two walk-in clinics are scheduled in the coming weeks at the Allegany County Health Department in the Willowbrook Office Complex Community Room. On Tuesday, June 8th from 1 to 6 p.m., a Pfizer vaccine clinic will be held, open to ages 12 and older. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Then, on Tuesday, June 15th from 1 to 4 p.m., a Moderna vaccine clinic will be held. No appointment is needed for any of these clinics.
In Allegany County, 25,417 residents have received their first dose of a two-dose vaccine against COVID-19 (36.1% of the population), with 22,274 of those individuals now fully vaccinated with their second dose (31.6% of the population). The number of residents who have received the single-dose Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) vaccine is 2,610 (3.7%).
By comparison, the state reported that 53.4% of all Marylanders had received their first dose of a two-dose vaccine, with 44.3% having had both doses and 3.9% vaccinated with the single-dose vaccine.
