Congressman David Trone, Senator Ben Cardin and Senator Chris Van Hollen announced Community Project Funding to help with the renovation of the theatre at Allegany College of Maryland. The $187,500 was requested by lawmakers in 2021 approved last fiscal year and now has been distributed to the college. Congressman Trone said the “project is about more than rebuilding a theatre; it’s about increasing economic opportunities for the next generation.” The theater has been undergoing renovation and will include updates to lighting, rigging, and sound. This is the first major update done to the theatre since it opened in the 1970’s.
