Allegany County Board of Education member Fraley provided update to establish a hub for student behavioral health needs

In 2021, the Maryland General Assembly included language in the Blueprint for Maryland's Future, to create a new Maryland Consortium on Coordinated Community Supports to help meet student behavioral health needs and other related challenges. The Consortium has three purposes: supporting the development of coordinated community supports partnerships to meet student behavioral health needs; provide expertise for the development of best practices in the delivery of student behavioral health services; and to provide technical assistance to local school systems to support positive classroom environments and the closing of achievement gaps so that all students can succeed.
