The Allegany County Commissioners put forth the proposed 2024 budget at Thursday’s meeting. The $111 million-plus budget is an increase of 9.8% from 2023 and is highlighted by no tax increases for county citizens. County Administrator Jason Bennett in going through the budget explanation, noted that most of the county revenue comes from a limited number of sources.
