Allegany County COVID Update

In observance of the Independence Day holiday, the Allegany County Health Department will be closed on Monday, July 5.  There will be no COVID testing at the Allegany County Fairgrounds on Monday.  Testing will resume Wednesday, July 7 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

 

Free walk-in COVID vaccination clinics will be held on Wednesday, July 7 and Wednesday, July 14 on the ground floor of the Willowbrook Office Complex (12501 Willowbrook Road, Cumberland, MD) from 9 a.m. to noon.  Both the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccines will be offered to individuals 18 years of age or older.

 

The Allegany County Health Department reports that26,723Allegany County residents have received their first dose of a two-dose vaccine against COVID-19 (38.0% of the population), with 24,840of those individuals now fully vaccinated with their second dose (35.3% of the population).The number of residents who have received the single-dose Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) vaccine is2,991(4.2%).

 

By comparison, the state reported that 57.5% of all Marylanders had received their first dose of a two-dose vaccine, with 52.0% having had both doses and 4.3% vaccinated with the single-dose vaccine.
