Anderton Knows Rural Issues

One of the promises that Governor Wes Moore made when he was running for office was to not forget the rural areas of Maryland.  To that end, he immediately created a position, Director of Rural Economic Strategy, to oversee business development in 16 of the state’s rural counties, including Western Maryland. It was a position that Salisbury delegate Carl Anderton, who took the job, knew was needed in the state…

“When I met him as a candidate, he said why is it when I’m in the rural parts of the state that everybody’s telling me that they feel kinda left out and left behind. And I said well, because we always feel like we’re left out and left behind. He said we gotta fix that, and I said yes, you do!”
