The Allegany County Animal Shelter has seized two dogs that attacked and killed another dog on its porch in South Cumberland. The dogs were running loose when the incident occurred. Shelter spokesperson Becky McClarran said the dogs had to be tested for rabies but was unsure how the shelter was going about it…
“We do have the two dogs now not only because of that but also because they had not had their rabies shots. So we did seize the animals. We are having them evaluated, have had them evaluated. What we want the most is to have the laws changed to have stricter laws.”
McClarran said the future for the dogs is unclear at this point, but they could be returned to their owners under current laws…
“The recommendation has been made that if they are adopted, that it be a home with no children, no other pets.”
