This year’s AAA analysis of owning and operating a new vehicle shows a downward trend this year. Owning a new car this year costs $965 per month or around $11,600 annually, a decline of $720 dollars from 2024. AAA says factors contributing to the decline include depreciation, lower finance charges, reduced fuel prices, and a shift toward more affordable vehicle options.
