April is National Distracted Driving Awareness month. The National Highway Transportation Safety Board says over 3,000 people were killed in 2022 in traffic crashes involving distracted drivers. Using a handheld phone while driving in West Virginia is illegal and state police there will be part of the “Put the Phone Away or Pay” enforcement efforts.
