On January 27, 2013 at 7:49 p.m., Allegany County Sheriff Office responded to 11107 Mexico Farms Road in Cumberland for a reported domestic assault complaint. Investigation led to the arrest of William Joseph Spraggs, age 39 of Cumberland. Mr. Spraggs was charged with one count of 1st degree assault, 2nd degree assault, reckless endangerment, and disorderly conduct. Mr. Spraggs was transported to District Court and held on $30,000 bond.

On 09/26/12 an Officer with the Cumberland Police Dept was traveling in the 100blk of N Centre St when he observed an assault taking place. The officer observed a female identified as 27 year old Jessica Durham of Cumberland, on top of a second female subject punching her in the face with a closed fist. The officer placed Durham under arrest at this time. While placing Jessica Durham under arrest, another female identified as Nakota Durham, 20yoa of Cumberland, began yelling and screaming at the officer and was held back by several by standers. The female again came towards officers on the scene yelling and screaming and was subsequently placed under arrest. Jessica Durham was charged with one count of second degree assault and disorderly conduct. Nakota Durham was charged with Disorderly Conduct, Obstructing and Hindering Police, Fail to Obey a Lawful Order, and Interfere with a Lawful arrest. Jessica Durham was taken for an initial appearance at District Court where she was held ordered on a $3,000 Bail. Nakota Durham was also taken for an initial appearance and also held on $3,000 Bail. The victim of the assault did not require medical attention.
