Bench Warrant issued by Allegany County District Court

On Wednesday, January 4th, 2023, the Cumberland City Police arrested Jessica Nicole Porter, 34, of Cumberland MD. Porter was arrested on an active Bench Warrant issued by the Allegany County District Court on December 2nd, 2022. The warrant allege that Porter violated the terms and conditions of her probation that stemmed from a previous theft charge. She was taken before the District Court Commissioner for her Initial Appearance where she was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center. She is currently being held without bond.

On Wednesday, January 4th, 2023, The Cumberland City Police arrested Jimmy Ray Gulledge Jr, 30, of Cumberland MD. Gulledge was arrested on two active warrants issued by Allegany County District Court. The first warrant stemmed from an incident that occurred on September 30th, 2022. During that incident, it was alleged that Gulledge pulled a knife on a victim and threatened to assault them. The second warrant, a Distrcit Court Bench Warrant, alleged Gulledge violated the terms and conditions of probation that had been set due to a previous assault conviction. He was taken before the District Court Commissioner his Initial Appearance where he was remanded to tha Allegany County Detention Center. He is currently being held without bond.

Charges: Bench Warrant-Violation of Probation, Assault 1st Degree, Assault 2nd Degree, Reckless Endangerment, Intoxicated Endanger, Dangerous Weapon-Intent to Injure, Disorderly Conduct.

On Wednesday, January 4th, 2023, the Cumberland City Police responded to a Queen City Drive business for the report of a shoplifter. Once on scene, Officers contacted an employee from the business who stated they had observed the shoplifter in the store concealing items on their person. The employee then confronted the subject and had them remove the items from their person. During this time, the subject had an open bottle of alcohol which spilled on some of the merchandise, damaging it. The subject was also found to have an active Bench Warrant for violation of probation. As a result, Sommer Dawn Knotts, 40, of Cumberland MD, was placed under arrest. While being taken into custody, Knotts acted in a disorderly manner, continually yelling at officers and other patrons in the area. She was then found to be in possession of a quantity of suspected methamphetamine. She was taken before the District Court Commissioner for her Initial Appearance where she was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center. She is currently being held on $500 bond.
