December 7th, 2022 by WCBC Radio

On Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at approximately 8:06 AM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to Plymouth Drive for a disturbance.  Officers contacted the caller who reported that there was a disturbance between her and Samad Waller.  She explained that Waller was arguing with her and damaged a door to her residence prior to leaving.  She also informed officers that Waller had active warrants.  Police confirmed that Waller had two active bench warrants.  Officers located Waller on foot at the intersection of Welch Avenue and Bedford Street.  Waller fled from officers.  Officers were able to locate Waller in the yard of a Frederick Street residence.  Officers engaged Waller and after a brief struggle were able to take him into custody.  Waller was arrested and served with the two Allegany County Circuit Court bench warrants.  One warrant was issued as the result of Waller failing to appear in court on October 25, 2022.  The other warrant was issued as the result of Waller violating pre-trial release. Waller’s original charge was Reckless Endangerment.  For the warrants, Waller was held at the Allegany County Detention Center without bond pending his appearance at the Allegany County Circuit Court.  Waller was held on a $5,000 percentage bond for the additional on-view charges.
