Burks, Mesy, McCoy Secure Victories for Men’s Track at Messiah Invitational

The Frostburg State men's track & field team finished in fourth place overall at the Messiah Invitational, earning three first place finishes on the day. 
 
The top finishes came from sophomore Tom McCoy topping 4.65m in the pole vault, junior Nathaniel Mesy winning the 400 meters in 49.63, and sophomore Marquise Burks taking the decathlon, totaling 6471 points, good enough for an NCAA provisional mark and third in FSU history.
 
The Bobcats had two high finishes in the 800 meters coming from freshmen Kaleb Berhanu (1:55.85) in second and Justin Dowell (1:57.93) in fourth.
 
The 4×100 and 4x400relay teams both recorded second place finishes, with senior Mark Vaughns, Mesy, freshman Aaron Dufrense and senior Nick Richardson clocking a 43.04 in the former, then Vaughns, freshman Aiden Schwab, Richardson and Mesy came in at 3:22.23 in the latter.
 
Dufrense also finished fifth in the 100 meters at 11.10, while Vaughns and freshman Mason Reed finished fourth and fifth at 15.58 and 16.25, respectively. Junior Justus LePrevost ran a 3:59.66 in the 1500 meters, good enough for fifth place. 
 
The Bobcats will run in the Loyola/Hopkins Invite next Friday and Saturday, April 21-22. For more information visit frostburgsports.com
