Tonight’s Cumberland Mayor and City Council meeting sees an item on the consent agenda to enter into an agreement with the Army Corps of Engineers concerning the re-watering of the C&O Canal. The design portion of the project was initially approved in 2019, but was stalled by the Covid pandemic. The city will provide in-kind and financial contributions not to exceed $210,000. US Senators Cardin and Van Hollen have already earmarked $390,000 for the project. The public meeting begins at 6:15pm at City Hall.
