Maryland’s casinos generated over $169 million dollars in revenue in May, showing a decrease of 5.2% from the previous year. Gaming contributions to the state in May totaled $70.8 million dollars for taxed revenue on slot machines and table games. Locally, Rocky Gap Casino was down 7.8% from last year’s numbers, generating $5.2 million dollars in revenue. Statewide contributions to the Education Trust Fund were $51.4 million dollars. Gaming revenues also support the communities and jurisdictions where the casinos are located along with small and minority- and women-owned businesses.
