Casino Revenue Recovers Slightly in December

Maryland Casinos generated $165 million in revenue from slot machines and table games during December of 2023, an increase of less than half of one percent over the same time in 2022. It was the first increase in year over year revenue in months. Gaming tax revenue to the state for December was just over $70 million, a slight increase over December of ’22.  Both Horseshoe Casino in Baltimore and Rocky Gap Casino showed marked decreases from December 2022 revenues – Horseshoe was down 9.6 % and Rocky Gap was off by 8.2%.  Rocky Gap Casino’s total for the calendar year is $61.3 million, down from $64.3 million in 2022.
