On Thursday, February 29th, 2024, the Cumberland City Police responded to a vacant residence on S. Cedar St for the report of a burglary. Upon arrival on scene, officers observed a male subject exiting through an open window. It was then determined that the male suspect had never lived there nor did he have permission to be on the property. As a result, William Morgan Stewart Sr, 41, of Cumberland MD, was placed under arrest. He was taken before a District Court Commissioner for his Initial Appearance where he was released on a $1500 unsecured bond.
