CERT Team Makes Major Drug Bust

On Tuesday, November 10, 2020, the Cumberland City Police utilizing the Cumberland Emergency Response Team for entry executed a Search Warrant in the 400 block of South Street Allegany County, Cumberland Maryland.  A subsequent search of the residence revealed numerous controlled dangerous substances to include crystal methamphetamines, crack cocaine, heroin, acid, scheduled prescription medications, and a handgun.  As a result of the Search Warrant, Brandon Izat, age 22 of Cumberland, and Scott Jones, age 29 of Cumberland were arrested.

Bandon Izat was charged with possession of methamphetamines, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamines, possession of alprazolam, possession with intent to distribute alprazolam,  possession of clonazepam, possession of buprenorphine hydrochloride, possession of tramadol, possession of codeine, possession of oxycodone, possession of xtampza, possession of crack cocaine, possession of heroin, possession of psilocybin, possession of N-dimethyltryptamine, possession of marijuana over 10 grams, possession of lysergic acid diethylamide,  possession of lysergic acid diethlamide with intent to distribute, possession of paraphernalia, maintaining a common nuisance, possession of a regulated firearm after conviction of qualified crime, possession of a firearm in relation to a drug trafficking crime. 

Scott Jones was charged with possession of methamphetamines, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamines, possession of alprazolam, possession with intent to distribute alprazolam,  possession of clonazepam, possession of buprenorphine hydrochloride, possession of tramadol, possession of codeine, possession of oxycodone, possession of xtampza, possession of crack cocaine, possession of heroin, possession of psilocybin, possession of N-dimethyltryptamine, possession of marijuana over 10 grams, possession of lysergic acid diethylamide,  possession of lysergic acid diethlamide with intent to distribute, possession of paraphernalia, maintaining a common nuisance, possession of a firearm in relation to a drug trafficking crime, use of a firearm in commission of a felony.

Following their Initial Appearance in District Court, Brandon Izat was remanded    to the Allegany County Detention Center without bail, and Scott Jones was remanded on a $20,000 bond.
