Change in Schedule for COVID-19 Testing at Fairgrounds

The Allegany County Health Department has announced that drive-thru COVID-19 testing at the Allegany Fairgrounds will not be available from Monday, May 23 through June 1 due to another event at the fairgrounds.  Additionally, there will be no walk-in vaccination clinic in the fairgrounds multipurpose building on May 25.


Fairgrounds drive-thru testing will be available Monday, May 16 from 2 to 7 p.m. and on Wednesday and Friday, May 18 and 20, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.  COVID-19 testing is also available at local urgent care facilities, or by utilizing at-home test kits. 


COVID vaccinations for those 12 and older will also be available at the fairgrounds on Wednesday, May 18 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the multipurpose building.


Youth COVID-19 vaccines (ages 5 to 11) are available at the Allegany County Health Department (12501 Willowbrook Road, Cumberland, MD) on Wednesdays from 3 to 4:30 p.m. 


Appointments are recommended for both clinic locations and can be scheduled by going to the health department website at  For assistance registering for an appointment, county residents can call the COVID-19 call center at 240-650-3999. COVID-19 vaccines and boosters are also widely available at local pharmacies, urgent care clinics, and some primary care providers.
