Change in Schedule for COVID-19 Testing at Fairgrounds

The Allegany County Health Department has announced that drive-thru COVID-19 testing at the Allegany Fairgrounds will not be available from Monday, May 23 through June 1 due to another event at the fairgrounds.  Additionally, there will be no walk-in vaccination clinic in the fairgrounds multipurpose building on May 25.

 

Fairgrounds drive-thru testing will be available Monday, May 16 from 2 to 7 p.m. and on Wednesday and Friday, May 18 and 20, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.  COVID-19 testing is also available at local urgent care facilities, or by utilizing at-home test kits. 

 

COVID vaccinations for those 12 and older will also be available at the fairgrounds on Wednesday, May 18 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the multipurpose building.

 

Youth COVID-19 vaccines (ages 5 to 11) are available at the Allegany County Health Department (12501 Willowbrook Road, Cumberland, MD) on Wednesdays from 3 to 4:30 p.m. 

 

Appointments are recommended for both clinic locations and can be scheduled by going to the health department website at https://health.maryland.gov/allegany.  For assistance registering for an appointment, county residents can call the COVID-19 call center at 240-650-3999. COVID-19 vaccines and boosters are also widely available at local pharmacies, urgent care clinics, and some primary care providers.
