Child Passenger Safety Week is in progress across the state. The week is dedicated to helping to educate parents, grandparents, and caregivers about the importance of choosing and installing car seats, booster seats and seat belts. According to the National Highway Safety Administration, car safety seats have been shown to reduce fatal injury by 71% for infants under 1 year old and by 54% for toddlers.
