Recently, Cumberland was lauded as being one of the most walkable cities in the region, just behind Rockville. The recognition was based on several factors including air quality and farmers markets. Cumberland’s Mayor Ray Morriss told WCBC that often no one is aware that scoring like this is happening, but hearing from those outside the area is a chance for locals to view Cumberland differently…
“And they see it and they go this is really pretty cool. Whether you’re talking about the Allegany Museum, whether you’re talking about the trails, all of the amenities, all the quality of life things that we have here in Cumberland that sometimes we as residents overlook.”
