On February 6, 2017 at approximately 11:00 PM Cumberland Police Officers responded to a Grand Avenue residence for a reported domestic assault. Upon the Officer’s arrival they spoke to the female victim. She stated she and her live-in boyfriend had been arguing about a possible separation. During the argument the male, Nathan Butler, slapped and pushed the victim up against the wall. The argument then moved to another room where Butler allegedly threw the victim to the ground. The victim suffered injuries described as a small abrasion on her face, a mark on her back and a cut on her right middle finger as a result of the assault. Nathan Butler was then placed under arrest and during a search incident to the lawful arrest, a small amount of suspected cocaine was located on his person. Butler was then transported to the Cumberland Police Department. He was processed and taken to the Allegany County District Court Commissioner’s Office where he was released on his own recognizance.

On February 6, 2017 Officers arrested Amanda Tallman on a criminal summons. The summons stemmed from an incident that occurred at a Columbia Street residence on January 18, 2017. The victim reported he was inside of his apartment with Amanda Tallman. He stated he went in to another room and when he returned Amanda Tallman had left the residence and two computers were missing. The victim stated Tallman was the only other person inside the residence when the items went missing. Charges were then filed on Tallman at the District Court Commissioner’s Office. The summons was served on Tallman and she was released pending trial in Allegany County District Court.

On October 17, 2016 the Cumberland Police served a criminal summons for second degree assault on Howard Gary Kramer. The summons stemmed from a hit and run incident that occurred on September 21, 2016. On that date Officers were called to Allegany College of Maryland for a reported hit and run. Officers spoke to the victim who stated he was driving on Interstate 68 E/B heading to the college when a road rage incident occurred. The victim stated he mistakenly cut off another driver and this driver followed him at a close distance to the college parking lot. The victim parked his vehicle and the driver of the other vehicle, Howard Kramer, began yelling at him. The victim stood in front of Kramer’s vehicle and attempted to take a picture of the vehicle when the vehicle eased forward and struck the victim. The victim fell over the hood of the car and then jumped away. The vehicle driven by Kramer then drove away. The victim suffered minor injuries and did not seek medical treatment. Officers spoke to a witness to the incident who corroborated the events. The summons was served on Kramer and he was released pending trial in Allegany County District Court.

On October 17, 2016 Cumberland Police responded to a Baltimore Avenue business for a reported theft. Upon their arrival they spoke to an employee who provided a description of a suspect that left the store without paying for a food item. Officers located the suspect, Jacob Ginty, and he was placed under arrest. He was transported to the Cumberland Police Department where he was issued a criminal citation and released pending trial in Allegany County District Court.
