On November 6, 2018 an officer with the Cumberland City Police Department was on patrol when he observed Dustin James Beal walking on Frederick Street. The officer was familiar with Beal and aware that he had an active arrest warrant through Circuit Court for Allegany County for failure to appear. The officer located and contacted Beal on the sidewalk. Beal was advised by the officer that he was under arrest and was searched incident to arrest. During a search of Beal a small folded piece of aluminum foil was located inside his pants pocket. The foil was unwrapped and found to contain one small sheet of suspected LSD blotter paper a schedule one drug. Beal was arrested and transported to the Cumberland City Police Department for processing. Beal was processed, served and taken before the District Court Commissioner. Beal was released on the CDS related charges and held in the Allegany County Detention Center on the Circuit Court Warrant.’

On July 14, 2016 at 6:21 pm. Officers from the Cumberland City Police Department responded to Sheetz on Greene Street in reference to male inside the store acting suspicious. Upon the officers arrival they contacted the subject identified as Andrew Scott Crites. Crites informed officers that he was upset with the service he was receiving at the store. Officers were also contacted by a customer who informed them that there was a hypodermic syringe inside the store where Crites was standing. Officers questioned Crites about the syringe and asked him if he would consent to a search of his person. Crites agreed to the search and officers discovered Crites to be in possession of prescription narcotics that were not contained in the proper bottle. The pills were identified as a schedule two narcotic. Crites was placed under arrest at the scene and transported to the Cumberland City Police Department for processing. Crites was taken before the District Court Commissioner and later held in the Allegany County Detention Center on a temporary commitment.
