City Police Make Disturbance Arrest

On August 29, 2019 at 3:26 a.m., Cumberland City Police were called to 13000 block of Ali Ghan Road for a disturbance.  Upon arrival officers assisted by the Maryland State Police, contacted Patrick Hale Jr., age 30, of Cumberland.  Officer found that Hale had created a loud disturbance both inside and outside the business, and kicked glass out of a vehicle window.   While officers were investigating the incident, Hale continued to create a disturbance.  Subsequently, Hale was placed under arrest.  Hale was later issued a Criminal Citation for disorderly conduct and released pending trial in District Court.

On Wednesday August 16, 2017, at 7:10 pm, Cumberland City Police officers responded to the area of Park and Cecilia Street for a disturbance.  Officers observed a large crowd gathered near the train tracks.  Kathy Bennett, age 56, was repeatedly told by officers to leave the area but she failed to comply with the officers directions.  Bennett proceeded to push an officer and as a result was placed under arrest.  She was transported to the Cumberland City Police Department for processing and to the Allegany County District Court Commissioner’s Office for a bond hearing.  Bennett was released on her personal recognizance pending trial.

CHARGES:  Fail to Obey, Assault 2nd Degree.
