Citizens feel crime will spike if Mission relocates to N. Centre St

Among the major concerns expressed by residents in the North Centre Street area about the prospect of the Union Rescue Mission relocating to the site of the High Point Furniture Outlet are of increased vagrancy and loitering and decreasing property values. Many of those addressing the Cumberland Mayor and City Council during recent meetings have pointed to fear of criminal activity increasing.
