The City of Cumberland Engineering Department would like to notify the public on the behalf of Columbia Gas of Maryland that between February 13th, 2023 and March 3rd, 2023 there will be construction performed on Mechanic Street, between Market Street and Frederick Street from 7AM to 5PM each day.
Between these dates, this section of Mechanic Street will be reduced to a 9-foot-wide driving lane. There will be no on-street parking permitted on Mechanic Street during construction hours starting at 7AM each morning and concluding at 5PM. Overnight parking will be permitted outside of these hours. Pedestrian paths will be maintained. Access to businesses and cross streets will also be maintained, with only minor interruptions expected.
The Engineering Department will issue further notification if the construction duration needs to be extended.
