The City of Cumberland Engineering Department, on behalf of Belt Construction, would like to notify the public that beginning on Monday, March 14, 2022, there will be construction activities occurring in the Decatur Heights region of the City. Construction will occur between 7:00 am and 4:00 pm on week days.
Belt Construction will be replacing the water mains in the following streets:
Polk Street
Independence Street
Decatur Street
North Waverly Terrace
Altamont Terrace
Union Street
Baltimore Street
Baltimore Avenue
Davidson Street
Frederick Street
Bedford Street
The listed roads will be closed at intermittent times during the work day and the contractor will place “No Parking between 7:00am and 4:00pm” Signs in their area of work.
Each street is expected to be opened at the end of each work day if possible.
Additional information will be released in the future as needed.
Residents are advised to avoid the area as much as possible during this time to allow for the work to be completed safely and successfully. Pedestrian walking paths will be maintained throughout construction.
