The Local Development Council has agreed on a list of recipients for more than $3 million in Rocky Gap Casino proceeds. County Administrator Jason Bennett serves as chair of the 15-member group that includes state lawmakers as well the sheriff and health officer. Most of the funds are targeted for fire companies as well as municipalities and nonprofit groups for capital projects. There had been a mini controversy early in 2020 when there was some discussion of reducing allocation for the opportunity scholarship program.
