The Allegany County Health Department reports that 19,054 Allegany County residents have received their first dose of a two-dose vaccine against COVID-19 (27.1% of the population), with 11,117 of those individuals now fully vaccinated with their second dose (15.8 % of the population). Additionally, 852 Allegany County residents have received the single dose Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) vaccine (1.2%).
By comparison, the state reported that 31.9% of all Marylanders had received their first dose of a two-dose vaccine, with 17.9% having had both doses and an additional 1.8% vaccinated with the single dose vaccine.
Beginning April 6, Marylanders age 16 and older became eligible to get a COVID-19 vaccine at any mass vaccination site in the state. On April 12 all vaccine providers statewide will open eligibility for Marylanders age 16 and older. However, individuals ages 16 and 17 will only be able to utilize providers who offer the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine because it is the only one currently approved by the FDA for ages 16 and over.

· New COVID Cases: 29 (cumulative total 6,559)
· Additional Deaths: 0 (cumulative total 204)
· Cases Per 100,000 Population: 11.77 (Maryland: 21.7)
· Positivity Rate: 2.42% (Maryland: 5.71%)
With the rate of daily new COVID cases starting to slowly increase, local health officials are reminding the public that it is important now as much as ever to continue to take precautions such as wearing a mask when in public or around others outside of your household, washing your hands frequently, avoiding social gatherings, and maintaining social distancing.
