Health officials report the number of new cases of COVID-19 was more than 1,900 since Thursday. That's the highest daily increase since Feb. 3.  WBAL reports the 7-day positivity rate is now at 6.05%, up by more than a full percentage point since Monday.

The number of hospitalized patients is up by four to 236. State health officials while concerned about the spike in cases note that 92% of the state's eligible population ages 5 and up have received at least one dose of vaccine and more than 4.6 million are fully vaccinated.
