CPD Makes Several Arrests Monday

On Monday, February 25th, 2019 the Cumberland Police Department responded to a Wills Creek Avenue address for a 911 hang-up call.  When officers arrived, contact was made with a male identified as Sean Patrick McElwee who stated that he did not make the call.  Additional investigation into the incident found that McElwee was served a protective order on February 24th, 2019 by the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office forbidding him from being on the property.  McElwee was arrested and charged with an interm protective order violation. He was taken before the District Court Commissioner and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center held without bond.

Trespassing Arrest

On Monday, February 25th, 2019 the Cumberland Police Department responded to a 925 Grand Avenue for the report the report of an intoxicated female causing a disturbance.  When officers arrived, they located the female who was identified as Pamela Evette Flanagan. Police learned that on October 16th, 2018, Flanagan was served a “no trespassing order” barring her from the Grand Avenue residence.  She was arrested and issued a criminal citation for trespassing on private property and released pending trial.

Assault/Disorderly Warrant Served

On Monday, February 25th, 2019 the Cumberland Police Department served an arrest warrant on Michael Shannon Wilson.  The warrant was issued by District Court in reference to an incident at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center on Willowbrook Road back in October, 2018.  During that incident, Cumberland Police assisted by the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office had contact with Wilson when he became belligerent and combative in the Emergency Room to officers and hospital staff.  He was charged with disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace, and assault. Wilson was taken before the District Court Commissioner and was released on his own personal recognizance pending trial.

On August 20, 2018, the Cumberland City Police served Arrest Warrants on Christopher Porter, age 38, of Cumberland, and William Mongold Sr., age 56, of Cumberland.  The Warrants stemmed from an August 16, 2018 incident when the Cumberland Police were called to the 200 block of Virginia Ave for an Assault. At the conclusion of the investigation, officers directed all parties involved to District Court for charges.  Subsequently, a private citizen involved in the incident filed for charges.  Both Christopher Porter and William Mongold Sr. were charged with Assault First Degree, Assault Second Degree, Harassment, Trespassing, Disorderly Conduct, Disturbing the Peace, and Affray.  They were both taken to District Court for their Initial Appearance and released on their Personal Recognizance. 

 

Arrest Warrant Served

 

On August 20, 2018, the Cumberland Police served an Arrest Warrant on David Christifer, age 52, of Cumberland.  The Arrest Warrant was for Christifer violating his conditions of probation.  Christifer was served with the Warrant and taken to District Court for his Initial Appearance. He was then remanded to Allegany County Detention Center on a $3000 bond.

                                                    

Arrest Warrant/ CDS

On August 20, 2018 at 8:56 pm, officer from the Cumberland Police Department responded to Queen City Dr. for a suspicious complaint.  Upon arrival officers located the suspicious subject identified as Jeremiah Martin, 34, of Cumberland.  While investigating the complaint, officers found that Martin had an Arrest Warrant for Failing to Appear.  Martin was subsequently arrested and a search incident to arrest was conducted.  While searching Martin, officers recovered numerous items of CDS paraphernalia. Martin was served with the Warrant and charged with Possession of CDS Paraphernalia, and Possession of Controlled Paraphernalia.  Martin was later taken to District Court for his Initial Appearance and released on his Personal Recognizance.
