On September 29, 2016 Cumberland Police were on patrol in the Park Street area when they observed a disturbance.  Officers contacted several people on the street.  It was determined that Bret Bonner had been in an argument with a female outside of his Park Street residence.  Neighbors heard the incident and said they were going to call the Police.  Bonner then began yelling at the neighbors and then ran at the neighbors and threatened them with a knife.  The Police arrived at this point and began talking to all involved.  Bonner was yelling and causing a disturbance.  He was advised to stop causing a disturbance and refused.  He was then placed under arrest but struggled with the Police.  He then also lunged at an Officer.  The Officers gained control of Bonner and transported him to the Police Station.  He was charged and processed and taken before the Allegany County District Court Commissioner.  Bonner was held at the Allegany County Detention Center, pending a hearing.
